Forward equations for option prices in semimartingale models

چکیده
We derive a forward partial integro-differential equation for prices of call options in a model where the dynamics of the underlying asset under the pricing measure is described by a -possibly discontinuoussemimartingale. This result generalizes Dupire’s forward equation to a large class of non-Markovian models with jumps and allows to retrieve various forward equations previously obtained for option prices in a unified framework.

Local vs Non-local Forward Equations for Option Pricing
When the underlying asset is a continuous martingale, call option prices solve the Dupire equation, a forward parabolic PDE in the maturity and strike variables. By contrast, when the underlying asset is described by a discontinuous semimartingale, call prices solve a partial integro-differential equation (PIDE), containing a non-local integral term. We show that the two classes of equations sh...
متن کاملOption Pricing on Commodity Prices Using Jump Diffusion Models
In this paper, we aim at developing a model for option pricing to reduce the risks associated with Ethiopian commodity prices fluctuations. We used the daily closed Unwashed Lekempti grade 5 (ULK5) coffee and Whitish Wollega Sesame Seed Grade3 (WWSS3) prices obtained from Ethiopia commodity exchange (ECX) market to analyse the prices fluctuations. The natures of log-returns of the prices exhibit a...
متن کاملNumerical Methods of Option Pricing for Two Specific Models of Electricity Prices
In this work, two models are proposed for electricity prices as energy commodity prices which in addition to mean-reverting properties have jumps and spikes, due to non-storability of electricity. The models are simulated using an Euler scheme, and then the Monte-Carlo method is used to estimate the expectation of the discounted cash-flow under historical probability, which is considered as the...
متن کاملA Comparison Theorem for Stochastic Differential Equations and Its Applications in Economics
We study in this paper a class of preference relations on two distinct vector spaces representing two production choice spaces by introducing a comparison theorem for stochastic differential equations driven by a semimartingale. Some sufficient conditions on production choices which are budget-constrained by commodity prices are proposed. Key–Words:stochastic differential equations, comparison ...
متن کاملNo-arbitrage pricing beyond semimartingales
We show how no-arbitrage pricing can be extended to some non-semimartingale models by restricting the class of admissible strategies. However, this restricted class is big enough to cover hedges for relevant options. Moreover, we show that the hedging prices depend essentially only on a path property of the stock price process, viz. on the quadratic variation. As a consequence, we can incorpora...
